Bali: Hitting Our Stride

15 to 17 May 2011

Komaneka at Bisma, Ubud

This is my pastry basket:

Gina has one too.  We each get one every morning, delivered free to our room with the rest of our hearty breakfast.

In fact, the lovely people here at the Komaneka at Bisma Resort in Ubud come to our room eight times a day:  three times to deliver food (breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner), three times to pick up our dirty dishes so we don’t get ants, once in the morning to clean the room, and once in the evening to clean the room again AND turn down our bed sheets and lay out complimentary pajamas, along with flowery petals and a nighttime bed story.  This is certainly the life.

I do believe we are getting the hang of this Bali Resort thing.  We have mostly stopped fretting over the fact that we really aren’t doing anything and are instead focusing on the beauty of doing nothing in such a gorgeous setting.  Yes, we might be putting on a pound or two, but certainly there are more interesting things to think about as we lounge in the pool and discuss the best time for Gina’s next spa appointment (of which there have been many).  Days like these don’t last when you’re on a budget and on the road so pass me that last pastry, I have me some relaxing to do.
