Bali: Relax You Said

13 and 14 May 2011

Munduk Moding Plantation

After two days of trekking and our one day of biking, much reviewing and re-reviewing of our Lonely Planet, and talking with other travelers here in Bali, we’ve determined that beyond what we have done, what most people do when they come to Bali is nothing.  Nothing in the form of relaxing at one of the many lovely resorts that, by most Western standards, are cheap, i.e., five star accommodations for well under $200 a night.  Now we get teased a lot by friends and family who think that we don’t know how to relax.  This is not true.  We do know how to relax, it’s just that how we relax – pedaling along a quiet country road or hiking up an alpine peak – may not be how other people define relaxing.  Their definition may instead revolve around a pool, a lounge chair, a fruity beverage, and a spa.  Well, count us in.  We’re going to try out this other mode of relaxing.  And we’re starting here in Munduk at the Munduk Moding Plantation Resort.  We’ve got a villa, an infinity pool, a badminton court, and an appointment at the spa for a free massage.  Here goes nothin!
