Pt. Loma, California
Sometimes we say things we don’t mean, things like “sure, I’ll call you” or “sure, that would be fun” or “yep, I’m definitely starting my diet tomorrow.” And when we say it we know we won’t honor it or make it a priority or even think about it again. But if that thing that we’re responding as such to includes the promise of margaritas, we know we mean what we say.
But really, that’s trivializing something that shouldn’t be treated that way, for the promise came from a co-worker who has entertained me for quite some time now and yet we’d never met. In person, that is. So here in San Diego, on the eve of our trip, we made it a priority to meet up with Marc. Oh, and drink a few margaritas.
Thanks Marc, for driving us around Point Loma to the voice of Google Maps (on Android, of course), taking us out for street tacos and top-shelf margaritas, and for being such a fun guy to work with over the past few years. It’s been my pleasure and that’s one of those things that I mean when I say it.
I’m so glad to have been a part of the trip (without any bicycling required). Safe travels!
