New Orleans to Jackson, LA

I didn’t get to see her when we were in Austin so I’m thinking today’s my chance while we self-tour the New Orleans Garden District. The “her” in question is Sandra Bullock and seriously, I’m sure she’d love to meet us and hear all about our cross-country trip so with any luck, we’ll run into her while she’s out walking around her neighborhood. That would probably be better than seeing her now, peering back at us while we peek through this hedge trying to find her.

Our back-to-back rest days have brought very little rest but a very good time exploring New Orleans. From the Ritz Carlton by day to the evening ghost tour of the French Quarter, from brunch to beignets, from Greg’s enthusiasm for the city and ensuring we all had a good time to his generosity and willingness to get girl cooties by sharing his room, it’s been a fantastic few days off the bike. New Orleans is a city not easy to describe – a little bit New York, a little bit Sydney, a little bit Las Vegas – and a lot of none of those places. I guess that’s what makes it so unique and well worth a visit.
