St. Wolfgang, Austria (0 miles; Total = 556 miles)

One of our fellow breakfasters has just walked into the room carrying a lovely glass dish of fruit. Fruit? Where did she get that fruit? The only thing on the counter in our breakfast room is cold cuts and cheese. Gina leaps out of her seat and out the door to investigate, returning with a similar bowl of fruit as well as Count Chocula cereal. What is going on here? It turns out our hotel is holding out on us, there being a better stocked breakfast room down the hall. Gina proves to be the tipping point for our other fellow pauper breakfasters, who one by one disappear out the door and return carrying dishes full of items not available in this overflow room we were all funneled into. I know which room we’ll be headed to tomorrow, but now we might have to get up earlier to get in since the secret is out.

We’re taking an off day in St. Wolfgang to amble about, contemplate swimming, and just generally do nothing. We need to consult the weather gods and our maps to determine where to head next, now that the second stage of our tour is nearly over. Danube – check. Lakes district – check. What comes next? Fresh fruit for breakfast is about as far as I can predict.
