Yep, it’s true, today counted as an actual “holiday.” No alarm, no schedule to keep, no backpack, no bicycle. Just a leisurely breakfast with three cafe au laits, followed by a leisurely canal walk with a cappuccino stop, followed by a leisurely town walk, followed by a leisurely lunch of pasta and pints, followed by a leisurely lakeside walk. Okay, there was the climb up to the Château d’Annecy that was followed by an even higher climb up to the Basilique de la Visitation, and there was a lot of walking in general. But the pedal boats were all rented out and the forested hillsides were not calling our names, so we’ll call it a proper day of relaxation on the road.
