It’s January 4th and for most of us, that meant back to work, the long and luxuriously relaxing Christmas and New Year’s holidays behind us (along with a few extra pounds). But it wasn’t back to work for everyone. One guess? Yup, Gina. Officially unemployed now, she spent the first part of her day contemplating exactly what “unemployed” means. Her definition, with a little help from Webster:
un⋅em⋅ployed [uhn-em-ploid]
Adjective: not employed; without a job; out of work: an unemployed sales manager
Noun: people who do not have jobs; Gina
Synonyms: unoccupied; idle; at liberty; jobless
So far she seems to be enjoying it, although I’m not yet sure if she’s fully embraced it, given the long To-Do lists now spread out around the house. I think she needs to look up the definition of “idle” next, for I sense an impending flurry of activity well beyond that which was spent while she had a paying job.
Nice to see something finally got her motivated to do some work – signed her ex boss. 🙂
